I’m Marcus Weber, and I’m the person who translates blockchain complexity into plain English. Originally from Munich, I studied Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich before earning my Master’s in Distributed Systems at ETH Zürich. My academic background might sound heavy, but it’s exactly what you need to separate real innovation from marketing fluff in this space.
My crypto journey began in 2015 when I started mining Ethereum in my university dorm room (much to my roommate’s dismay about the electricity bills). After graduating, I spent three years as a blockchain developer at a fintech startup in Berlin, building payment infrastructure on Stellar and Hyperledger. But I realized my real passion was explaining how these systems work, not just building them.
I transitioned into technical writing and developer advocacy, spending two years at Chainlink documenting oracle solutions and creating educational content. That experience taught me how to bridge the gap between developers and the broader crypto community. I specialize in breaking down consensus mechanisms, smart contract security, layer-2 scaling solutions, and cryptographic innovations.
At BoostUp Crypto, I focus on the technical deep-dives—the stories about protocol upgrades, network security, and infrastructure developments that serious crypto enthusiasts crave. I also have a soft spot for exposing technical weaknesses in overhyped projects. When I’m not writing, I’m usually reviewing GitHub repositories or testing new wallet implementations.
